Gowbarrow Fell

Today we were doing some patrol work in Matterdale. This parish covers the area to the north of Ullswater. As we passed Bassenthwaite lake we had to stop and photo the clouds that were hanging above the water. Looking across at Carl Side & Dodd (Skiddaw is in the mist behind) It was perfectly still & the reflections were amazing
After completing the NP park we had time to climb a fell we chose Gowbarrow Fell as it is one on its own & not one you would do as part of a range. Looking down on Glenridding & Ullswater.
It only took about 45mins to reach the summit where we could then see the north end of Ullswater
Gowbarrow Fell (481m)
Looking back up the fell & the route we had taken to the summit from the car park
