We have been busy in the past week doing three separate days of patrols for The Park.
Last Saturday we headed to Loweswater, looking across at Mellbreak (which we would walk around on Sunday)
Again from further away
Crag keen to jump in any water as it is a very warm day
Karen spots a patch of snow in the distance!
Crummock Water in the distance
A very man-made channel leading water from Loweswater to Crummock Water, Grasmoor in the distance
Loweswater Fell
The only thing to report is this fallen tree on one of the paths
A mother posing with her two lambs
A very barren landscape on Sunday as we walk anti-clockwise around Mellbreak
The only tree this one marked on the map as The Mosedale Holly Tree
Buttermere with Fleetwith Pike
A steep descent off the southeren end of Mellbreak
A panorama of the view as Crummock Water appears
Then a gentle walk along the shores of Crummock Water
Yesterday we were over at Rosthwaite & yet more water for Crag
A great remote campsite
Then a small matter of crossing this river, we had noticed there was no footbridge on the map, but assumed as it was a patrol route there would be one – wrong
We get across & are soon walking through this forest of bluebells
Again it’s another beautiful day
On Seathwaite bridge looking up the valley
Now we enjoy our dry stone walling, but we have never seen one this wide!
