This week we are having a few days away with Karen's parents (Anne & Ian) just outside the Peak District National Park in a small village called Froghall. We have stayed in the property 4times now as we use it each November for the 6 Dales walk, but it is Anne & Ian's first stay.
This is the property from the rear, there are 5 properties to rent here & the owners live to the right hand side.

We had all arrived shortly after lunch so decided to have a walk along the canal, a family of ducks
We walked as far a Consall where it would have been rude not to have a drink at the Black Lion pub, Crag decides he wants to sit on the bench with us.
Today was forecast to be showers so we decided not to go too far from the house. This morning we did a circular walk to Whiston & back. The countryside here is rolling moorland.
We came across this rather large & out of place rock
Looking through the valley
Then we walked in the trees along a section of the disused Caldon to Froghall tramway
We are 10 miles from Stoke so were rather surprised to come across this "shed", it is the players tunnel from Stoke Citys Britannia Stadium!!!
We returned to the house for lunch & then decided to go for a walk in the grounds. The house sits in 30acres so there is plenty to explore. This is Sid the resident swan on their lake.
Walking through the wooded section
Bluebells are plentiful here
The dogs quickly find a beck
Crag foraging for stones
Bess contented to just lie in it
The house from the front, there are plenty of walks to do from here, but we also want to go into the Peak District, so will probably have one more day here & one away.
