Calf Crag

On Friday we headed over to Grasmere to walk another fell which was new to us. We started up the same route that we had taken to go up Tarn Crag but instead to taking this bridge at the Stythwaite Steps we continued along the valley. We followed the Far Easedale valley to the col in the distance.
Looking back at Gibson Knott & Helm Crag
And again from further up
When we reach the col we turn slightly back on ourselves & head for Calf Crag's summit
There were a couple of steep sections to reach the col so it was good to stretch our legs on the gentle incline to the summit
The summit view towards Grasmere with Windermere in the distance
Calf Crag (537m)
In the other direction Ullscarf which is our last Central Fell to climb
These waterfalls must look good after some rainfall
We retrace our footsteps back down & stop here for lunch, not a bad view from the canteen windowA lovely walk & nice to get some good weather to allow us to get out. Let's hope it continues.
