Karen's Birthday

Yesterday was Karen's birthday & as it was a lovely day we decided to walk up Dent & have lunch in The Brook afterwards. We walked from home, Dent from the cycle track Some lambs with their mother
We are on the forest track that leads us to the summit
We had a lot of rain the day before, the grass is steaming in todays sunshine
And we are out of the trees on the final push to the summit
Zooming in on Cleator church, The Brook just this side of it
The rain had fallen as snow on the higher fells, Scafell Pike & Sca Fell to the right
Looking towards the Ennerdale fells
A bit hazy, but Black Coombe in the distance
Longlands lake
Egremont
Bess, Karen & Crag at the summit. As you can see it was warm enough for t-shirts, we could have got away with shorts too.
After a short break we retrace our steps back down
A final dip in the Ehen at the now derelict Kangol factory
Thank you everyone for my cards
We had a lovely lunch in The Brook washed down with a couple of pints in The Crown & then birthday cake at The Robin Hood. It was a really good birthday.
